May Morning

I woke up at 5am this morning and get ready for the May Morning. May Morning is a annual event in Oxford on 1 May, a tradition of over 500 years. It starts at 6am with the Magdalen College Choir signing a hymn. We gather in High Street under Magdalen Tower; its not too crowded, at least we are able to meet some other MBA friends in the street.

There is a party atmosphere despite the early hour. Some people dressed in black tie or ball gown because there are overnight May ball here. In fact, the choir just sing for 10 minutes, the crowds start leaving at 6:15am finding places for May breakfast. Many colleges arrange May breakfast where champaign is served in the morning. It is not easy to find places for breakfast, finally, we go to Jericho Cafe.

Overall, I find it definitely worth joining this event, not because of the choir, but a good time to do something together with friends. Once in a life!
